Meet the Egrets

The egret is a wading bird that belongs to the heron family, typically found in wetland habitats, such as marshes, swamps, and estuaries.

My neighbours are Mr and Mrs Egret and a host of junior and senior Egrets. They wake up around 7:10 am without fail.

What can I learn from these white-plumed long-legged creatures?

“1. We are family, we stick together.

2. We are punctual and ready to leave home at dawn, be it weekday or weekend!

3. Some of us are migratory, but we don’t cause global warming with our frequent travels!

4. When we build our homes, we don’t cause habitat loss to other species!”

“You look beautiful this morning, Mrs Egret. Take a look at the fluid mirror!”, said Mr Egret.

She said, “Oh, I’m not image conscious, unlike our human neighbours.”
